I recognized it immediately! Hahaha!! But then, I lived with a bunch of total jokers, all in the fine arts, in my twenties. It wasn’t unusual to suddenly find a whole handful of them reenacting the immortal Ch & Ch or Python scenes word for word. “Dave’s not here” just happened to be one which I myself may have instigated a time or two. Or three… 🙄😆

It reminds me of the Howard Stern radio shock jock story of being in a studio one day when he heard this pounding noise and all these shrieking-with-joy females and they’re all calling “Dave! Dave!” (for David Lee Roth) and Stern just lowers his head and mutters, “Dave’s not here.”

The last time I saw Howard Stern was when he went on Bill Maher’s show, ostensibly to be interviewed by Maher, and instead Stern turned the whole thing around and basically grilled Maher about his own private life and probably got him in trouble with his girlfriend too. Afterwards I said to my wife, “Well, it’s obvious which one of them is the better interviewer.” 😂
