Not a Review of the Trailer for “Blonde”
So if you’ve got Netflix, you no doubt have seen, at some point in the last several months, the trailer for Blonde, a film based on the Joyce Carol Oates novel of the same name. We saw it too.
The film, of course, stars Ana de Armas as Marilyn. Now, I did like Ana de Armas in Knives Out, and No Time to Die would’ve been a better movie if it had just ditched Bond and followed her character of Paloma instead:

So at this point, everyone who’s interested has seen the new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Multiple times. (Lord knows I have.) For those who haven’t run across it yet, here it is:

So the other day we were scrolling through available movies on streaming, and I spotted The Outsiders* on the list. Readers of a certain age** are likely to remember The Outsiders, the novel, which we all read in high school back in the day. Or at least, most of us did.

Fifty Shades Of Psycho
Wife (watching “Fifty Shades of Grey” trailer after reading humorous Dave Barry article about it): “This looks terrible.”
Me: “Let me see.”
(takes laptop to watch trailer)
Me: “Yeah, it does look terrible.”
(stops video, surreptitiously starts “American Psycho” trailer instead)
Me: “Here, you can have it back.”
(returns laptop to wife with “American Psycho” trailer playing)
Wife (puzzled): “Wait, is this the same movie?”
Me: “More or less.”
