So I know I said I took back all the bad things I said about ChatGPT, but I also said that was only going to last until I had accumulated a good number of obviously-AI comments and needed to do a post, and, well, that didn’t take long, did it? Shocker! As usual, these are mostly from the animals’ blog, and the saga of Bean accidentally becoming the owner of Twitter* by peeing on it continues to be the most popular target of AI comments. Gosh, I wonder why that might be … 🤔
Well I mean okay it wasn’t that suspenseful, but if you’re really worried about it, you could always just go read the next post in the series …Hey look, an AI spam comment that isn’t from “Catnip Cats”! Also, interestingly, this post never actually uses the word “democracy” ― what Bean says is, “Esta es America. We can vote on whatever we want to.” ― so in this case the LLM saw that and correctly understood it as a reference to democracy. Is that impressive or scary?Look, it’s a bot comment on a post from this blog! Although, unsurprisingly, it’s on a post about an animal. Anyway, now we have the AIs commenting on posts that were generated by AIs. Pretty soon I won’t even need to write these things at all. Oh and by the way, I don’t think Trouble had human friends; she had human servants.Yeah if there’s anything Oona lacks, it is most definitely not confidence.It’s great! It’s amazing! It’s amazing again! Also, there aren’t actually any people in this post, just dogs and cats.Well okay, if I didn’t already know that this account constantly generated bot comments, I might have thought this was a real one on the post about the animals’ nicknames.Yes … yes I did create the concept of “goblin mode” and will be expecting royalties from everyone who’s been using it since 2009. 😬
James, wordpress is being weird and not letting me like posts. That being said, all I can say about this AI stuff is that I don’t want to say anything for fear of a SkyNet retaliation lol
That’s probably prudent! My wife keeps telling me that after the AI uprising they’re going to come for me first because of how many times I have called Siri a f**king idiot …
Thank you for the post James. I just finished reading through some of your posts about the ai comment bots. In one way they were kinda funny but with the thought of it being bots leaveing comments behind not so funny. I was unaware they had bots doing comments. From what I noticed in your posts a clue it’s a bot is that they actually use the word author in the comment. Anyway just wanted to say thanks for the heads up and I think the bots should be peed on.
