Chiggers and ticks. I love canoeing, and fishing, and camping except for the chiggers and ticks, well ticks are much worse, and Asian Tiger mosquitos are bad too.

We didn’t have chiggers in the Adirondacks but I met up with them on our cross country trip in 1976 down around our uncle’s place in Arkansas. Those little bastards can really latch on!

Yes I remember being bitten a lot one time by chiggers. Ticks are a lot worse though.

I would spray OFF on my body just to walk down the street to the store when I was a kid. I was (am) the anti-camper. My idea of roughing it in the great outdoors is sitting on the patio at night with the light off.
