From the “It’s The Thought That Counts” Department, this is a card I apparently made for my parents back in elementary school. Can you guess what holiday it’s for?
If you guessed “Donnie Darko Day”, congratulations! You’re as big of a nerd as I am.
Okay, I’ll give you a hint and show you the back of the card. Now what holiday would you guess?
What? No, it’s not for Jupiter Day! Jupiter Day isn’t even a thing*! It’s for Easter!
Apparently, whenever this dates from, I was apparently already a fan of the color orange, but I was still having a little trouble with capitalization. And “H” vs. “M”. And “d” vs. “b”. And figuring out how much text would fit on one line; although, really, we all still have trouble with that one sometimes, don’t we?
* Unless you’re into astrology I suppose.

Are those really your hands?

This may be my favorite comment since the one years ago on Dennis’s blog that said, “This is perhaps the most ridiculous blog with a clear requirement of effort being involved that I’ve ever come across. Kudos sir.” 😁

i thought it was for halloween because of the orange color. a look into donnie darko day revealed i was only off…by 20 plus days
without lines and borders, my handwriting descends to chaos. dad tells me to just sign his bday cards with my name cause he doesn’t want his friends wondering what’s wrong with his 31 yr old son and why he can’t write sentences straight…

I used to have pretty good handwriting, until (years ago) I had a temp job answering phones and taking messages. I had to write really fast and now my handwriting looks like a doctor’s prescription pad.

Those kinds of memories are fun! I have oodles of boxes full of such things, including written ‘diaries’ of things they did, day by day…to give to future wives …tee-hee!

We guessed Easter right away and think it’s cute how you mixed up the “d” and “b”.
