Note: This was the chairlift to get to the top of a sadly-defunct alpine slide in central New York ― one of the few things my wife was actually willing to be suspended in mid-air for.

There’s something wonderfully nostalgic and human about this note 😊
It captures not just a place, but a shared memory — the mix of adventure, hesitation, trust, and affection that often lives inside small moments like these.
My ex and I once went to a mountaintop theme park in Maggie Valley, NC, called Ghost Town in the Sky. The ski lift reminded me of it. It had a great rollercoaster that just went over the side of the mountain instead of needing a big hill to climb first. Recently, I saw it on one of those abandoned theme park shows. Time marches over us.
Scribble me this, Batman! (Note: WordPress is having some trouble with comments right now, so don't feel guilty if you can only leave a "Like" at the moment.) Cancel reply
