We also used to have a big “cowboy” hat, but a black one. However, we used to refer to it as the “pilgrim hat”. Whenever the kids put it on they felt they were pilgrims. It is a nice photo.

This is my “winter” hat; my other main hat is a sueded leather one with a mesh crown that I got down in Old Town. That’s my “summer hat” because it’s so well ventilated, plus I don’t want it to get rained on! 😁
