So, this arrived in the mail last week:

New Year? New Project!

So just before the end of 2016, I finally finished what is surely almost definitely probably the final major editing draft on Television Man, my dark fantasy novel which is sort-of set in the Adirondack park of upstate New York.

It was 118,000 words when I started editing …

And you know what that means:  It’s time to prepare and lay out the ebook and dead tree versions.  It’s not as easy as one might think.

That Was The Year That Was

So Goodreads has released its end-of-the-year recap of everything I read (or mostly read, or read a few pages of and decided it was crap) in 2016, which always makes for an interesting review.  Interesting to me, maybe.  To you, perhaps, not so much.  But here it is anyway!

Not A Review Of “Captain America: Civil War”

So this week, we watched “Captain America: Civil War“, AKA “The One Where Everybody Fights Everybody Else”.

Not A Review Of “Spectre”

So last week I saw the most recent James Bond movie, “Spectre”, which means I’m finally caught up on all the Daniel Craig Bond flicks.

I think Bond and Dr. Swann may have just finished their rendition of Maxim Kozhevnikov and Yulia Zagoruychenko’s samba routine to “Hip Hip Chin Chin” …

Teaser Tuesday: “Spirelli Paranormal Investigations: Episodes 1-3”

So this week I’m reading a short omnibus, Spirelli Paranormal Investigations: Episodes 1-3, by Kate Baray, which — as you may surmise — collects three short novels about the adventures of Jack Spirelli, who, uh, investigates the paranormal.  And he has a sidekick who is a dragon that can take the form of a human woman.  Sounds like one of my characters, no?  So of course I had to read it.

Alas, poor Yorick.

Teaser Tuesday 11/29/2016: “The Complete Midshipman Bolitho”

So this week I’ve been reading The Complete Midshipman Bolitho, by Alexander Kent, which is an omnibus of three short novels about Richard Bolitho and his adventures in the Royal Navy.

You’re gonna need a bigger boat.

I keep wanting to call him Midshipman Bolingo, but that is something completely different.

Random Rejection: Allied Comics

So remember how I said I never throw away anything?  Check out this little chestnut:

Teaser Tuesday 11/15/2016: “The Source (Witching Savannah #2)”

So about 18 months ago, I read a book called The Line, which I quite liked.  A while back the rest of the “Witching Savannah” series went on sale for like $1.99 each, so I picked up the rest of them, and this week, the random book picker on my eReader said I should read the next book in the series.  That would be this one:

Not to be confused with The Source of Magic. Or is it???
